Tolby achieved the #5 National Rank for Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the August 2025 Canine Chronicle. He’s also cleared all his health testing and is available for stud.

During the Denver show, Wendy described him as a “dog with a great disposition” and in addition to his amazing confirmation, that’s truly the reason he should pass on his character to future generations.

That’s our boy at #5 Rhodesian Ridgeback…in the entire United States.

Prior to breeding a dog it’s important to do health testing. With Tolby being both successful in the show ring and having one of the best temperaments I’ve seen in a ridgeback, we wanted to get his health completely checked out. His DNA is amazing and should be part of the effort to promote great ridgeback lines.

Tolby went Group 1 over 41 Hounds with Judge Sheila Paske.

One of the Hounds he beat is the Harrier who is #6 Overall Hound in the country.

Not every day where you can get two Group Twos in the same Day, but Tolby and Wendy did in Bismarck.

GCHB Aziza’s Backcountry Toblerone

Tolby has a fantastic pedigree and happy to be related to these great dogs and breeders including Aziza, Krystal, Copperridge, Presidio; and that’s just two generations back!

We’ve had good luck and previous experience with these lines from New Mexico and very impressed with what we’re getting from some of Arizona’s top breeders.

Better clarify that we trained Tolby to tear up those notes. 🙂 At my office he just sleeps!

GCHB Aziza’s Backcountry Toblerone

The family was in Greece, and Tolbs stayed with Wendy and went to Albuquerque.

He went Group 2, 4 and 3 and finished with 15 Grand Champion Points, 69 Breed Points, and 312 All Breed Points. What a weekend!

Tolby knocked out Grand Champion Bronze and a Group 2 in the same day! Thanks to Wendy Oelrich for showing our boy!

GCHB Aziza’s Backcountry Toblerone

Wendy shows several Berners for her clients. My silly ridgeback enjoys their company.

So yeah, people ask how’s his temperament? I’d say it is perfect.

I admit when we had to figure out how to use the Backcountry names that we like, with Aziza’s Candy themed litter…it took some creativity. But Ally had a memory of eating Toblerone while spending time in Tolby meadow during Rayado. So we smooshed it all together and got a quality registered name.

Tolbs is at work with me, he spend a couple part days lounging in the office and hoping his office friends come in my office to visit him.
